How early should I be at the airport before a flight?
The amount of time needed at the airport for check-in and bag drop procedures varies according to how busy the airport is. However, for international flights, we recommend that you get to the Airport at least two (2) hours and for domestic flights at least one and a half hours (1.5 hours) before the scheduled departure time.
Which documents are required if I travel with pets?
Animal passports have been a legal requirement since 1 October 2004. Anyone wishing to take a dog or cat abroad will need the blue EU document for their four-legged friend. It is valid in all 25 member states of the European Union, and confirms that the animal has been inoculated against rabies. The international certificate of inoculation previously issued will apply for twelve months from issue. Which documents are required for unaccompanied minors?
In order for the child passenger to travel unaccompanied, one of the parents or the legal representative will fill in and sign the ‘Authorization Certificate for the Unaccompanied Child Transportation’. For further information please contact your airline.

Parking and Ground Transportation

Where are the car parks located?
Car park is located across the terminal building and within walking distance.
Where can I find parking for the disabled?
Exclusive parking spaces are available for the physically disabled on the car park’s outdoor and indoor levels.
Where and how do I pay for parking?
Pay points are located at the car park buildings at the open car park level. Car park fees are paid in cash or by credit card at the payment points. There are also automatic payment points at car park buildings where you can make your payments with credit card. In addition, you may download “Sabiha Gökçen” mobile application application and pay for parking online quickly and easily.
Do vehicles displaying disabled placards or license plates have to pay for parking?
Disabled passengers wishing to use our car park free of charge up to 15 days must be present in the vehicle and submit the required documents at the Subscription Office located at car park building West entrance. We kindly ask Disabled passengers to submit their Disabled cards and vehicle registration. The surname on both documents has to match. If the vehicle is a company car a document that the company has reserved this car to the guest’s use is to be submitted. Only the veteran him or herself can benefit and has to submit the veteran card and vehicle registration.
How do I get from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Istanbul Airport?
Passengers travelling from Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Istanbul Airport can ride Havabus Pendik shuttles which collects passengers from open car park level at the airport across terminal arrivals.
 
How can I bring my own car into Turkey as a Foreigner?
Foreign-plated vehicles can only be brought into Turkey on an Alien Vehicles Temporary Entry Card (Yabancı Taşıtlar Geçici Giriş Belgesi )Blue card-plate and tax free cars. You can temporarily import your vehicle for private use as long as it is registered in the country of residence. The maximum time that the person can stay with his/her vehicle in Turkey is 730 days. In addition to the card, you must pay a considerably high customs fee based on the specifications of vehicle at the Turkish Customs Office. You can find Customs at K Building.
Do I need parking reservations, and will parking be available?
There is no pre-booking available. Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport’s multi-level car park is a four-floor building with a capacity of 4,718 vehicles and 72 buses.

Are there any luggage packing service at the terminal?
Two Luggage packing units serve to all our guests at Terminal Building Departures level. If you think your luggage is not appropriately packaged or is unprotected you can use luggage packing unit service.
How can I get a map of the terminal?
Is there a porter service?
Porter services come to the rescue of our guests on those occasions when baggage trolleys aren’t big enough to carry all that a passenger needs to carry. Attendants are ready to serve who are in need of porter services at the terminal entrances. The porter service is a paid service.

Where is the Lost And Found Office at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport?
Sabiha Gokcen International Airport’s Lost and Found facility is located on the Domestic Departures Level at the landside area and is open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Please take note that the Lost and Found Office does not deliver any recovered item during public holidays. Are there prayer rooms in the terminal?
In our terminal, there are 6 masjids in total, 3 for men and 3 for women and one prayer room for other religions. Apart from these, we also have a mosque that we opened outside the terminal.
Where can VAT refunds be claimed?
You can claim your tax money back from customs offices.
How or where can I store baggage at SAW?
Passengers arriving early to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport may leave their baggage, to the Left Baggage Office in the Terminal Building Arrivals Level, International Arrivals hall per charge. To contact Left Baggage office please dial +90 216 588 88 02.

What hotels are near the airport?
ISG Airport Hotel is located within the borders of the passenger terminal and can be reached in 3 minutes by the hotel shuttle service. After exiting the terminal, the hotel’s shuttle pick-up and drop-off point is to your right. You can call the airport shuttle by phone and reach the hotel in no time.

Am I allowed to enter Turkey with my national ID?

Security and Baggage

Do I have to recheck my luggage on connecting flights?
When layover flights are booked with the same airline, your baggage will be automatically transferred through to your final destination. However, if the two flights are with different airlines, you may have to claim and re-check your baggage during your layover.
Can I carry liquids, aerosols and gels on board?
In your hand luggage, you can only carry liquids, aerosols, and gels in containers of no more than 100 milliliters.
Can I buy liquids, aerosols and gels bought at the airport?
All tax-free liquids purchased at the airport duty-free shops located beyond the passport control or on board airlines should be within the shopping limits set by the applicable customs regulations in Turkey or the destination country.
Are there any exceptions to the 100ml rule?
Baby food and medicines for use during the trip are exceptions.
Is breast milk except and what about formula milk?
Baby foods are exceptions. You may be asked for proof that they are needed or to taste the content.
Can you tell me what is considered a liquid?
Water and other drinks, soups, syrups, creams, lotions, oils, fragrances, sprays, gels, including hair and shower gels, contents of pressurized containers including shaving foam, deodorants, liquid-solid mixtures, mascara, and other items of similar consistency.
What items are prohibited?
Cutting-piercing and flammable-explosive etc. finds are in the status of prohibited items as specified in Annex 17 of the National Civil Aviation Security Program (MSHGP) and are destroyed without storage.

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
In case of such inconveniences, the airline is obligated to inform the affected passengers of the situation. Covid-19

Is PCR test available at Sabiha Gökçen Airport?

Sabiha Gökçen Airport’s walk-in PCR and antigen testing facility Smartlab has suspended their operations as of 01.04.2023. Passengers required to provide PCR testing prior to their departures must conduct their tests before arriving at the airport.
