OUR SAFETY POLICY

Our Airport-wide policy here at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport is;

To ensure a hazard-free healthy and safe environment to all our passengers, customers and employees against all identified hazards.

For achieving this target, we are aiming to;

  • Set up an active aviation safety program,
  • Assign responsibility for enhancing safety performance at all operational levels,
  • Ensure to engage our aviation customers and sub-contractors actively in our own-developed program,

Therefore, we, as İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Uluslararası Havalimanı Yatırım Yapım ve İşletme A.Ş. commit ourselves to;

  • Explicitly define the obligations and accountability of all the management levels starting from the CEO and also that of our employees for ensuring safety performance
  • Ensure that safety performance is one of the core components of our operation/employee evaluation system by measuring our Safety Management System performance and the related key performance indicators
  • Remove or minimize as much as possible all the risks including the human factor, by setting out the hazard identification and risk management processes by including the reporting system; by considering safety perfection as an indispensable duty
  • Provide competent workforce and financial resources and to continuously improve safety for achieving our safety targets
  • Comply with and to improve as much as possible the national, international aviation and safety laws and regulations
  • Enhance audit process involvement and apply corrective and preventive action if required, by continuously monitoring the effectiveness of the safety management system duly as required by our quality management system
  • Design solutions and take permanent measures at the earliest by openly and objectively investigating the complaints and proposals from our customers relating to safety
  • Take up the Safety Management System to the highest level by ensuring the necessary training and development to our employees
  • Encourage our employees to take decisions on improving safety performance and consider all voluntary notifications communicated by them
  • Avoid any employee being penalized, under a just culture; for reporting any safety concern via the hazard reporting system, except for any illegal action, gross negligence, incompliance to the regulations and procedures, deliberately and willingly
  • Perform the due inspections for ensuring that any systems and services provided by third parties comply with our safety performance standards
