The construction of the project began in February 2005.
The rest of the project is due for completion by the end of 2011.
The travel time between Kartal and Kadıköy shall be 29 minutes approximately upon completion of the line.
The planning for the line to be extended to Sabiha Gökçen is progressing.
Upon completion, the project will integrate with the Marmaray Project, as part of the all-in-one system.
