ISG effects the initial rental payment of Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport amounting a total of 76 million 514 thousand 851 euros. Marking one of the most important ‘Build – Operate – Transfer’ projects in Turkish aviation history, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Investment, Development and Operation Inc. (ISG) effected its first rental payment to the Undersecretariat of Defense Industries as part of the Contract on Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport New Terminal Building and its Complementaries.

In the ceremony organized on the occasion of the rental payment at ISG Airport Hotel, the symbolic check designed to represent the payment amounting 76 million 514 thousand 851 Euros was presented to the Minister of National Defense, M. Vecdi Gönül by the Chairman of the Board of ISG, Nihat Özdemir.
 

Malaysian Prime Minister visited Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport during official visit to Turkey

Malaysia’s Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Hj. Abd. Razak paid an inaugural visit to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (ISGIA) while on his official visit to Turkey.
During the terminal visit Maleysian Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Hj. Abd. Razak said “it is a great honor to witness the success of ISGIA, founded in partnership by Limak Group (Limak) and GMR Infrastructure Limited (GMR) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB)."Under the new management, the traffic in ISGIA has more than doubled since its inception. Currently 51 airlines operate from ISGIA and fly to a total of 95 destinations. Since its inception, ISGIA along with the airport management company ISG, has received several awards, including World’s Best Airport, and Turkey’s Most Successful Tourism Investment 2010," it said.
 

Nasair to launch Jeddah flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen

The new low cost airline of Saudia Arabia, Nasair will be launching flights to Jeddah from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport as of 14th of March 2011 with 180 seat capacity Airbus A-320 or with 110 seat capacity Embraer 190. Nasair will be flying to Jeddah 4 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Istanbul Shopping Fest is starting!

Hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world will be hosted in Istanbul Shopping Fest which will take place between March 18 and April 26 2011.
Aside from the opening and closing events, there are many activities planned at shopping malls and stores, which will stay open till late hours. The festival’s glamorous spirit will take over shopping malls as well as the high streets of Istanbul; Abdi Ipekçi, Istiklal and Bagdat Streets. The entertainment will continue for 40 days with street festivals, concerts, shows, games for kids, parties, contests and fashion shows. The opportunities are not limited to these as those in Istanbul during the festival have the chance to shop from the newest collections at discounted prices. On top of that, during long shopping nights, it will be possible to shop till 02.00am and enjoy Istanbul at its most fabulous self.
